Responsibilities

  • Design and deploy disaster recovery solutions to satisfy isolated and high availability Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops infrastructure
  • Configure and Maintain Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops
  • As SME(s), advise Application developers on methodologies to identify compatibility and security complexities and troubleshooting the conversion of presented applications to be compatible as they are upgraded from Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops
  • Develop disaster recovery documentation demonstrating the installation procedures and configuration of the Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops environment and application deployment instructions for post disaster recovery
  • As SME(s), actively participate in the VA National Citrix Consolidation and Standardization groups
  • Contribute technical insight to translate business requirements into technical requirements in order to support published applications and published desktops in a geographically distributed enterprise-based Citrix environment
  • Publish VA required applications and desktops and making them available through the Citrix
  • StoreFront and Citrix Access Gateways 8
  • Analyze performance issues identified through infrastructure monitoring tools, such as Wireshark, Microsoft performance monitoring tools, ControlUp, and LoginVSI.
  • Strong background in Installation, Configuration, and Support of Citrix Storefront and Citrix Netscaler
  • Background in AWS and Azure Cloud
  • Troubleshoot, resolve, or escalate requests or issues with access to Virtual Desktop and Applications from both on site and remote VA users. The contractor shall use VA standard processes in handling and documenting of tickets and shall meet the standard service level agreement for responding to and resolving tickets in a timely manner while minimizing the number of tickets being reopened for the same issue
  • Provide SME level support on application performance, desktop performance, and application availability and desktop availability monitoring and reporting using current VA monitoring tools
  • Use monitoring diagnostic tools to find the root cause of performance issues
  • Assist staff on Root Cause Analysis based on data reported from the monitoring system

Qualifications

  • Experience working with Citrix Provisioning Server (PVS)
  • Expert level experience with Citrix Storefront 
  • Experience working with Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops on premises
  • Experience working with Citrix Cloud hosted technologies
  • Experience working with hypervisor technologies including Microsoft Hyper-V and VMware
  • Solid understanding of OSI Layers, including dynamic routing protocols and/or equivalent certification(s) (i.e., CCNP, etc.)
  • Basic understanding of security solutions and how they align with OSI stack
  • Experience working with Dell Hardware, using OpenManage to monitor and manage firmware and drivers
  • Proficient in programming with a scripting language such as PowerShell
  • Must have experience supporting Level III tech support 
  • Understanding of networking technologies and use of network capture troubleshooting tools
  • Familiar with server hardening methodologies and practical implementation experience
  • Knowledge of Hybrid, Cloud, and Multi-cloud strategies and governance

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems, Business, or related scientific /technical discipline and 5+ years’ work experience
  • Eight (8) years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education (13 years total)

Clearance:

  • MODERATE: Tier 2S (Standard MBI) 

Location:

  • Remote, USA
  • Monday - Friday (1:00 PM - 10:00 PM CST)

Pay Range:

  • The pay for this position ranges from $42,730 to $69,500
  • The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location
  • Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation, such as bonuses
