Responsibilities

  • Building, maintaining, and managing the Mainframe systems infrastructure including both hardware and system software components.
  • Implement and manage the processes and procedures to design and enhance the mainframe systems and to maintain processing throughput and availability to satisfy internal and external customers.
  • Manage the installation of Mainframe vendor software and the systems programmers that test and deploy solutions.
  • Manage mainframe department workflow and provide strategic and tactical guidance on departmental projects/issues.
  • Communicate decisions, resources, priorities and relevant project information to team members.
  • Serve as an escalation point.
  • Management of troubleshooting and corrective action for service impacting issues.
  • Ensure installation project plans are created and completed within project timelines.
  • Follow appropriate procedures invoking change management to make changes and to resolve problems.
  • Use appropriate technology based best practices for resolving problems.

Qualifications

  • Extensive knowledge of the Bull mainframe to include TP8 support, GCOS operating system support, and database support.
  • Knowledge of a variety of databases, software, programming, and operating systems. ex. GCOS, COBOL
  • Plan, analyze, and evaluate effectiveness of programs and processes.
  • Experience in accessing effectiveness of programs and providing/recommending resolution/improvement actions.
  • Experience working with mainframes. ex IBM, Bull, Unix/Linux.
  • Strong oral and written communications skills
  • Relationship management skills with ability to build trusted relationships at all levels

    

Education:

  • Master's Degree Business, or related field and 15 Years’ experience
  • Ten years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education: 25 years total

 

Clearance:

  • Moderate: Tier 2S (Standard MBI) 

 

Location:

  • 100% Remote, USA
  • Monday - Friday (8:00 AM- 4:30 PM CST Time)
