TISTA Science and Technology is seeking a Human Resource Manager who will lead and direct the routine functions of Human Resources for TISTA’s Austin, TX location. The HR Manager will support large program(s) and populations of 400+ Associates and Managers.

Responsibilities

  • Partners with the HR and leadership/operations team to understand and with minimal direction and with independence execute the human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, retention, and learning/development.
  • Provides support and guidance to management, and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations.
  • Collaborates with learning and development department and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees.
  • Oversees investigations and guides management in employee disciplinary meetings and terminations.
  • Leads and supports special projects and initiatives to attract and retain as well as develop our Associates.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; to include policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years’ human resources experience required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently with minimal direction; seeks guidance when appropriate.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS and talent management systems
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP highly desired

Education:  Bachelor’s degree in related field of study or equivalent work experience

 

Location:  Austin, Texas- hybrid of work from home + on site support
