A large Federal health-care agency is implementing a risk-based approach to technical writing and documentation that creates a unified effort across multiple projects that are currently separate. One of the key challenges is defining an effective technical and documentation writing approach that works enterprise-wide, implementing multiple new writing tools, and driving the adoption of best practices, and data-driven processes across the stakeholder groups.
The Technical Writer and Documentation Specialist will use a consultative approach and a deep understanding of current technology and technical writing to analyze and consolidate technical requirements. Finally, this role must be resourceful, detail-oriented, 100% client-focused, and possess a continuing passion for their profession.
The Technical Writer and Documentation Specialist is the primary contact accountable for program deliverables and documentation. This role coordinates with program staff (e.g. the Project Manager, other Key Personnel, and Team Leads) responsible for a deliverable’s completion, quality, and timely delivery. The Technical Writer and Documentation Specialist will provide technical writing, editing, and 508 documentation remediation support for all deliverables required by the SOW, customer XLC, and ad-hoc requests. Where applicable, all deliverables should follow customer standard templates and format and style guidelines. The Technical Writer and Documentation Specialist is also responsible and accountable for the coordination, preparation, facilitation, and delivery of customer meetings and engagements. This includes the creation and management of necessary meeting articles/artifacts (soft and/or hard-copy), such as, but not limited to:agendas, meeting minutes (inclusive of attendee tracking and action item capture), presentations, schedules, etc.
