TISTA is seeking a dynamic Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join our growing team.


The Sr. Infrastructure Engineer's mission will be to guide this platform’s development so that it becomes the engine of a healthcare-wide transition to value-based care by enabling effective data sharing, analytics, performance transparency, and value-based payment. Our engineers support the different layers that make up our stack: ingestion tools, pipeline orchestration, data storage, and web front ends. The role requires:

  • Excellent background in working in a cloud environment that supports the following products (EC2, S3, RedShift, EMR, Spark, Databricks, RDS, ELB, AWS VPCs and networking, CloudFormation, etc)
  • Demonstrated expertise in infrastructure engineering experience with a clear understanding of the federal workspace ((FedRAMP, HIPAA, SOC 2, etc).
  • Experience in understanding the intersection of infrastructure and security compliance in the federal space. Ability to understand the results of security scans and implement plan of actions (POAs) in resolving engineering problems.
  • Proficient administering Linux and ancillary services in a cloud computing environment.
  • Experience in one or more high-level software languages (e.g. Java, Java Script, Scala, Python, Ruby, Django on Rails)
  • Proficient in at least one commonly used programming language, such as Python, Ruby, Go, or Java
  • Experience with one or more software version control systems (e.g. Git, Subversion)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced agile team with multiple deliverables and priorities
  • Proven track record of collaborating with and integrating User Experience research and product management into design decisions.
  • Proficient in software development coordination and collaboration tools including JIRA/Confluence/Slack/MS Teams etc.
  • Experience software development on a team using Agile methodology



  • AWS cloud environment: EC2, S3, RedShift, EMR, Spark, Databricks, RDS, ELB, AWS VPCs and networking, CloudFormation, and Terraform
  • Languages: Python, Bash, Ruby (knowledge of Java, Go, or SQL a plus)
  • CI/CD framework automation: Vagrant, Packer, Jenkins
  • Metrics and reporting: Splunk, AWS Config, AWS SNS


  • Advanced degree preferred (BSc, MS)


  • Must be able to obtain a Public Trust
