Our team will provide application modernization, implementing a standard platform, common data sharing models, and establish a standardized approach to software delivery resulting in a positive impact for millions of people. Responsibilities

  • Provide application development support for the Microsoft suite of development tools and technologies including C# or VB.NET, SQL Server, and web development skills. 
  • Lead detailed analysis of the current system, program revisions, maintenance, enhancements and post implementation support of the application/system/database utilizing an Agile Approach. 
  • Institutionalize design considering user-centric HCD principles, Scaled Agile Methodologies as input to deliver scalable business services enabling inter/intra-agency data sharing 
  • Participate in and/or lead daily scrum meetings, resource estimation of incoming updates and additions to the application, and work with their team to provide estimated deliverables to the project team. 
  • Participate in Increment Planning (PI) preparation activities as well as in PI planning events to ensure consideration of development road-map and software delivery value stream requirements. 
  • Must have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and be able to perform independent analysis and complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision. 
  • Work in a team environment with strong interpersonal skills and an ability to interact with team members and senior managers 
  • Act as a mentor to junior/mid-level developers helping them to grow their knowledge base through peer review and process design and to provide input on potential modernization and advancement opportunities to the project. 

Qualifications

  • Strong coding skills in a high-level language (Python, C++, Java, ) 
  • Minimum of 2 years demonstrated experience in developing API’s including inter-agency data sharing 
  • AWS certification(s), preferably at the associates level or higher 
  • SAFe certification preferred 
  • Familiarity with Atlassian’s Jira and Confluence, Docker and Kubernetes 
  • Experience with back-end web frameworks (e.g. Django, Flask) 
  • Experience configuring web servers (e.g. Apache) 
  • Experience working in a SaaS and PaaS environment 
  • Experience in DevSecOps and CI/CD workflows including use of GitOps 
  • Experience with agile software development (hybrid or multi-cloud) 
  • Understanding of Sit Reliability Engineering (SRE) approach 
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Department of Veterans Affairs (preferred)

Education: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or equivalent 
  • 5 + years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education 

 

Clearance: 

  • Ability to obtain a Moderate Background Investigation (MBI) clearance
