Overview

TISTA Science & Technology is looking for a Validation Specialist to join our growing team. The Validation Specialist will perform adjudications on medical records and enter the corresponding data into software in accordance with contractual and organizational guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate and adjudicate discrepancies between hospital abstractions and CDAC abstractions to determine the “gold standard” answer.
  • Determine and record the explanation(s) for the discrepancies and provide well-written educational comments to the hospital or CDAC.
  • Perform medical record abstraction when needed to support module production goals.
  • Accurately enter collected data into software using a personal computer, keyboard and/or mouse.
  • Follow all established validation processes and procedures.
  • Maintain security and confidentiality of medical records and Protected Health Information (PHI).
  • Consistently meet or exceed productivity and accuracy standards established by the Company
  • Consistently meet attendance standards established by the customer and/or the Company
  • Interact appropriately with peers and other co-workers. Contribute to building a positive team spirit.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • At least two (2) years experience in work involving hospital medical records review is required.
  • At least one (1) year of CDAC abstraction experience during which the individual has achieved above average data accuracy and productivity.
  • Experience in quality control and/or assurance preferred
  • Ability to communicate information in writing so others will understand.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and integrity.
  • Ability to adapt to frequent changes in the abstraction, validation, and quality processes.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain an elevated level of concentration.
  • Capable of consistency, speed, and accuracy of task.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret physician documentation.

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, plus additional technical training in the review of medical records
