Overview

As an integral part of the Advanced Provider Screening (APS) Team, the Senior Data Analyst will interact with the Requirements, Engineering, Analytics, Operations and Maintenance (O&M) teams to provide required operational and data analytics support. A successful candidate will possess highly focused analytical and troubleshooting skills, monitor and resolve data operational activities, coupled with the ability to communicate complex ideas and interact effectively with other APS Team members

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for providing data analysis and resolution support for all screenings and continuous monitoring of APS population universe.
  • Actively work with Operations Team in monitoring of APS Data Loader processing from different sources, integration with external data vendors, troubleshooting any failed data loading jobs including business impact, resolving data issues, and providing system enhancements as preventive actions.
  • Understanding of Medicare and Medicaid enrollments data, claims data, exclusion/sanctions data, licensure and criminal screening alerts, and continuous monitoring process.
  • Provide Operational and Data Analytics support as part of the agile feature team during Sprint planning for the pre and post data validation release activities, define acceptance criteria related to data validation or data re-processing for Change Requests (CRs) being implemented.
  • Responsible for the extraction of data using SQL queries for the monthly Continuous Quality Improvements (CQI) reports and automating CQI with a goal to reduce the time between issue occurrence, issue identification and issue resolution.
  • Analyze monthly CQI reports key findings, and suggest areas of improvements in APS data Loader processing model, evaluate vendor data quality and responsiveness, and analyze operational datasets for anomalies and trends.
  • Utilize Python or R programming for statistical computing or automating web scrapping
  • Review of the Operational data metrics, monitoring data health check, highlighting key data trends, support ad-hoc data mining and back-end requests
  • Knowledge of databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server
  • Ability to work with Agile Teams in both Scrum and Kanban mode
  • Ability to perform and review data model designs and support the development team in SQL/PLSQL development when required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in data analysis, statistics, or related fields
  • In-depth programming knowledge with Python, R-programming, Scala or Java
  • Data analysis tool experience - Splunk
  • Experience writing Splunk queries in SPL
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; including process documentation
  • Familiarity with AWS Analytics services from Data Lakes to Machine learning is a plus
  • Experience in working on Scrum and Kanban methodologies using tools such as Jira, GIT, Confluence and MS SharePoint.
  • Experience with DevOps model, Continuous Integration (CI) / Continuous Development (CD) pipeline
