    TISTA Science and Technology is looking for exceptional candidates interested working in a fast paced, highly visible project. This role provides an exciting opportunity to bring forward your skills and expertise to manage all aspects of a project including software implementations, upgrades, data migrations and conversions, custom reporting solutions, big data solutions, and much more, working closely with a wide range of stakeholders.  Responsibilities will include leading client communications and meetings, eliciting business needs to architect solutions, scoping, managing project timelines, and working closely with internal and external stakeholders to set and meet expectations within agreed time-frames and with the highest quality.

    This role is particularly well-suited for someone who is a highly technical, hands-on person who also has solid project management and client-interfacing experience with agile software delivery experience.  In this position, the ideal Technical Project Manager:

    Responsibilities

     

    • Handles oversight and coordination of project timelines, tasks, milestones and deliverables.
    • Leads all aspects of software implementations, including deploying enterprise-grade software to our client's infrastructure in AWS, troubleshooting across product factors
    • Oversees an agile team made up of multiple scrum teams and works with designated scrum masters to manage team priorities and progress
    • Interfaces with various internal teams to meet client and organizational goals.
    • Creates and implements project definitions, schedules, budgets, and objectives for medium to large size projects of moderate complexity. 
    • Determines need for and impact of changes in project scope and makes recommendation based on determinations.
    • Gains concurrence, approval, and consensus from customer stakeholders regarding the various project aspects and adjusts accordingly.
    • Coordinates data conversions and migrations from other products and solutions.
    • Performs ongoing review of project status; identifies project risks.  Develops recommends and implements risk mitigation solutions as approved and as appropriate.
    • Interfaces with team members and stakeholders to anticipate and manage changes to projects such as but not limited to, technical requirements, business requirements and schedule. 
    • Works closely with, and reports weekly to management on accomplishments, activities, and progress against goals and objectives.
    • Develops effective tracking and reporting to provide early detection of problems and highlight opportunities.
    • Engages management appropriately and in a timely manner in problem determination, remediation, and resolution.
    • Implements best practices in areas of process, engineering, testing and overall project management.

    Management Reporting Expectations:

    • Works closely with, and reports weekly to management on accomplishments, activities, and progress against goals and objectives.
    • Develops effective tracking and reporting to provide early detection of problems and highlight opportunities.
    • Engages subordinates in the full extent of client relations and professional services activities providing professional growth opportunities and deepening and broadening their experience and capabilities.
    • Engages management appropriately and in a timely manner in problem determination, remediation, and resolution. 

    Qualifications

    • Five (5) years minimum proven experience as a Technical Project Manager involving software implementations and deployment (including data conversions, migrations or big data projects) 
    • Excellent general technical skills for troubleshooting software deployment issues, AWS Cloud issues, and other potential infrastructure factors which can affect project implementation
    • Thorough understanding of project/program management techniques and methods in the CMS XLC and TRB framework.
    • Excellent Knowledge of change management principles
    • Excellent knowledge of MS Office; solid working knowledge of program/project management software (MS Project, JIRA, Confluence etc.)
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
    • Outstanding verbal and written communications skills
    • Ability to think “outside the box” to identify problems and brainstorm solutions with the team
    • Ability to interact and communicate with various departments – need to be able to adapt to audience (C-level, IT, users, etc).
    • PMP and Agile certification strongly preferred
    • Strong presentation skills, both verbal and written including proficiency with presentation tools such as PowerPoint or similar software
    • Strong knowledge of Big Data Implementations
    • Able to multi-task well without losing attention to detail
    • Self-driven; able to lead a project from scoping to delivery

    Education/Certification:

    • Bachelors of Science or Associate Degree in IT or related field

     

    Clearance requirements:

    • Ability to obtain a Public Trust security clearance
