    TISTA Science & Technology is looking for a Functional Area Specialist (Senior) to support in Austin, TX!

     

    The qualified candidate will have experience with supporting business, functional, and technical activities and projects, and  will also possess familiarity with IT system development and risk management.  

    Responsibilities

    • Perform analysis of business, functional, technical, activities, and events
    • Work with users and customers to document and strategize for improvements for current business processes (business process re-engineering)
    • Identify and provide actionable suggestions for improvements to current business processes to improve efficiency
    • Provide market research on conditions that impact the overall operational efficiency of an organization and identification of symptoms for process improvement.
    • Take on primary responsibility for the execution of assigned tasks within the given timeline;
    • Assist with the development of presentations or reports under the direction of the client
    • Prepare for meetings by developing agendas, coordinating and scheduling meeting invites through MS Outlook, monitoring acceptance of invite by key participants, and distributing any read-ahead materials prior to a meeting
    • Keep client informed of any potential scheduling conflicts of participants and recommending alternative meeting date/time
    • Update database/repository such as SharePoint with information reported from research, meetings, handouts and daily activities
    • Organize and manage SharePoint site as directed by the client
    • Assist with qualitative and quantitative analysis of project information, reports, and/or statistics as directed by the client
    • Assist with identification, documentation and regular review of risks and issues with risk owners as needed
    • Track, gather, document, analyze and report data related to specific IT projects, programs, and initiatives based on specific criteria

    Qualifications

    • Candidate must have at least 5 years of related work experience
    • Advanced experience with Microsoft Office suite required
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Strong aptitude to learn and adapt to technology
    • Adapt well to a diverse work environment, work independently, multitask, and deliver accurate and high-quality work
    • Communicate clearly and concisely with all levels in an organization
    • Detail oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills
    • Experience with data analysis beneficial
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic team environment
    • Experience supporting Department of Veterans Affairs (preferred)

    Education: 

    • Bachelor’s Degree required, OR a minimum of additional 8 years’ equivalent work experience

     

    Clearance:

    • Ability to obtain Moderate Background Investigation (MBI) clearance
    • Current VA Clearance (preference)
