    TISTA Science and Technology Corporation has an opportunity for a Privacy Subject Matter Expert (SME) to work with our client in supporting the implementation of an Enterprise-wide Privacy Program.  This high visibility program incorporates the entirety of the VA and all of its component Administrations and staff offices.

    Responsibilities

    • Serve as the lead subject matter expert on all issues related to privacy to include significant policy development and evaluation
    • Coordinating and facilitating tasks to ensure compliance with the Federal privacy laws and regulations such as, the Privacy Act of 1974, the E-Government Act of 2002, and Office of Management and Budget memorandum and circulars
    • Manage and review data privacy protocols to ensure compliance with Federal and Departmental requirements for safeguarding Personally Identifiable Information (PII) and PHI released to the public for research
    • Conduct research to support decision making on relevant policy implications, including changes in privacy and organization procedures, compliance with Departmental policy, data and privacy regulations, security standard requirements and other policy issues
    • Facilitate change management through the program’s development of educational materials
    • Manage a team of Analysts who provide information on privacy requirements for emerging tools and technologies
    • Coordinate project activities with agency leadership and develops privacy and data stewardship policies which include the program’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Best Practices documents and compliance checklists

    Qualifications

    • 7-10 years of experience in Enterprise-level Privacy Programs
    • Ability to identify and mitigate risks to the program
    • Strong understanding of and experience with VA health programs
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment
    • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Project and SharePoint
    • Excellent leadership, analytical and data management skills
    • Exceptional written and oral communication skills

     

    Education:

    • Master’s Degree in related field
    • 10 years of additional, relevant experience may be substituted for education
    • CIPP certification is strongly desired
