    TISTA Science and Technology is seeking an Agile Coach to set up a Center of Excellence and function as coach and advisor to TISTA staff and clients. Success within our diverse range of clients requires the ability to adapt and perform in numerous Agile environments. In this position, your role as an Agile Coach will require you to be a strategic partner and thought leader for an organization transitioning to Agile Delivery methodologies.


    • Quickly establish collaborative partnerships with key stakeholders and team members to help them in their journey of adopting Agile methodology
    • Provide coaching and training at the program and team levels in an emerging Agile environment
    • Guide project delivery teams through coaching and mentoring
    • Assess the current organization and delivery environment and recommend optimal Agile practices tailored to the client
    • Coach RTEs, Product Owners/Managers, Scrum Masters, and team members towards performing at their highest level and transitioning away from waterfall processes
    • Perform in various agile roles, including Scrum Master, where needed
    • Plan, coordinate and facilitate all scrum ceremonies
    • Coordinate the delivery of agile based activities and leading the development project team to implement iterative releases driven by the program
    • Lead the coaching of multiple, distributed teams collaborating as ARTs, and be responsible for leading Agile transformation at a program/portfolio level
    • Influence at all levels of an organization and help implement recommended changes
    • Prepare and deliver effective communications both verbally and orally regarding progress and status for both internal and client teams
    • Perform hands-on project work, including analysis, design and change management, as needed by individual projects
    • Facilitate meetings and discussion as needed for diverse and senior groups of government stakeholders and multiple contractor subject matter experts
    • Responsible for creating/updating custom SAFe training material for clients as necessary
    • Assist with development of education & outreach materials and other external communications as directed by TISTA leadership


    • Minimum 5 years of work experience in IT full development life cycle and SAFe 
    • Five years of SAFe experience required
    • 2+ year experience with Scrum/Kanban Methodologies
    • Ability to establish immediate credibility with clients, build consensus, and achieve goals through influence
    • Ability to help teams write user stories/epics, identify dependencies, and design optimal solutions
    • Experience in a customer–facing role, including comprehending business needs, solving complex problems, and capturing business requirements to convert them into technical specifications.
    • Flexibility to work with teams, individuals and executives and willingness to help with a wide variety of work products and people
    • Experience working on Federal programs that are of high priority, visibility, and public-facing
    • Experience with Agile delivery programs; particularly those using the United States Digital Service (USDS) Playbook and TechFAR.
    • Must be able to work quickly with a high degree of accuracy
    • Able to work under minimal supervision, act independently and exercise an expert level of decision-making capability.
    • Excellent writing travel



    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, MIS or equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Certified Scrum Master, Certified Scrum Product Owner, or other Agile Certification required
    • Certified SAFe Program Consultant (SPC4 or higher)
    • Certified SAFe Agilist
    • ICAgile Certified Professional in Agile Coaching


    • The ability to pass a VA Modest Background Investigation
