    TISTA Science and Technology Corporation is seeking an Operations Lead to join our growing team.

     

    The Operations Lead will provide leadership to the Operations team and interfacing with the engineering, development, and first response teams to maintain and monitor best in class scalable enterprise-level cloud architecture for a prominent Federal program.  This person will work with all internal teams to ensure smooth operations of systems integration, development processes, infrastructure upgrades, engineering processes, and release activities. ensures compliance with industry best practices. Collaborate with multiple technical teams to achieve defined goals.

    Responsibilities

      

    • Guides the Operations team in prioritizing and processing inbound data sources, works with the project and program management team
    • Provide clear and concise reporting of operation activities
    • Documents and updates changes to processes and release versions, and Operations and Maintenance manuals. ensures compliance with industry best practices.
    • Ensures compliance with policies and procedures to minimize system downtime
    • Ensures compliance with industry best practices. Collaborate with multiple technical teams to achieve defined goals.
    • Provides problem determination/resolution based upon personal experience, expert opinion, and standard operating procedures, including providing guidance for immediate resolution where possible
    • Knowledgeable with Disaster recovery processes and execution
    • Able to maintain the operations of a large big data system running scans
    • Thorough understanding of BI tools including but not limited to SAS and MicroStrategy
    • Expert knowledge of AWS systems and storage technologies
    • Works with internal teams to assess functional requirements
    • Leads and advises the team in producing detailed system designs that meet the functional, connectivity, and security needs of the program
    • Measures and monitors system performance thresholds and generates reports showing overall application health
    • Ensures smooth operations of systems integration, development processes, infrastructure upgrades, engineering processes and release activities
    • Uses system monitoring tools to identify problems and recommend solutions, including resource and capacity planning
    • Understands cloud level security configurations and compliance requirements
    • Introduces best practices for Dev ops to the team and implements accordingly
    • Identifies process improvements and enhancements and executes in collaboration with the engineering team
    • Creates and manages automated system health and monitoring reports to help identify trends with infrastructure usage, downtimes, and upgrades
    • Expert knowledge with release management tools such as Jenkins, GitHub, and Jira
    • Proficient with collaboration tools such as Slack and Confluence

     

     

    Qualifications

    • Configuration and deployment experience in
      • RedShift
      • AWS Technologies such as EC2, S3, EBS, ELB, VPC, Route 53
      • Deployed application with RESTful/SOAP services interfaces
      • Experience building private AMI’s on VPC’s
    • Must be self-motivated with strong interpersonal, communication, presentation, and organizational skills
    • The ability to work and team effectively with management, staff members, and clients in a multi-tiered, fast-paced environment
    • Ability to communicate, orally and in writing, detailed technical information on troubleshooting and implementation efforts
    • Proficient with network and system monitoring tools
    • Working knowledge of Linux based operating systems
    • Working knowledge of MS Office suite and Visio
    • Advanced knowledge with IPV4 and IPV6 configuration, troubleshooting, and design experience
    • Advanced knowledge of virtualization and supporting technologies
    • Relevant technical certifications desired (AWS and Agile)

     

    Education:

    • Bachelors Degree OR 5 years of equivalent work experience
