Responsibilities

The Software Engineer will provide technical support to the IT department in the areas of application and information systems platform design, development, implementation and modifications.

 

 

  • Work within an Agile CMMi coding and testing environment to design, code, and test user interfaces
  • Utilize Team Foundations for all scrum documentation and activity
  • Consult with scrum team members and stakeholders to gather information about program needs, objectives, functions, features, and requirements
  • Review all product backlog items and assign task level estimates of code completion
  • Complete code reviews in a timely manner, giving feedback
  • Design application layouts in conjunction with team members and stakeholders
  • Tests and debugs assigned program units
  • Utilize Windows Presentation Foundation for all development projects
  • Participate in database design and architecture modeling
  • Perform Help Desk functions in a timely manner, troubleshooting issues as needed
  • Working as a team and contributing to a positive work environment for all team members
  • Participate in all sprint team meetings
  • Update technical documentation as needed

Qualifications

  • Strong working knowledge of Project, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Advanced skills in Microsoft Visual Studio .NET, C#, SQL Language, SQL Server 20xx, WPF, and Internet Explorer required
  •   2-5 years total work experience in the specific areas of database design and database application development
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures
  • Ability to write reports and routine business correspondence
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Knowledge of software engineering principals

 

Education:

 

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related field or the comparable combination of work related experience and post high school education
