Responsibilities

The IT Support Technician is responsible for managing incident queue using CA Service Desk Manager and supporting large stakeholder community of judges, lawyers, and attorneys in support of suite of VA Applications.

 

  • Coordinate code changes application services, components, and functionality
  • Provide for general IT services related to customer
  • Review, coordinate, management, and complete Change Request from stakeholders
  • Support Tier 1 and Tier 2 application related tickets
  • Create and maintain project artifacts, such as SOPs, FAQs, Topologies, Design documents, etc.
  • Maintain application backlog, while resolving defects, issues, and triaging incidents
  • Ensure production services are available and triage issues as they arise
  • Monitor application performance 

 

Qualifications

 

  • At least two years of experience working within an IT setting
  • Must be able to work independently and collaborate across projects
  • Ability and willingness to learn PowerBuilder and Oracle 11g, if not already experienced
  • Ability to coordinate with several team members with diverse background across multiple regions within a fast-paced environment
  • Resourceful and self-motivated
  • Ability to apply detailed knowledge of organizational procedures to make independent decisions
  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision making capabilities
  • and serve as a credible resource for a senior management team
  • Ability to work with all levels of internal staff, as well as outside clients and vendors
  • Superior interpersonal skills including courtesy, professionalism, and a cooperative attitude

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or other IT related degree

Clearance:

  • Ability to obtain a Tier II MBI

Location: 

  • Washington, DC (on-site with client)
