Windows System Administrator

The Windows System Administrator is responsible for an enterprise grants management system and supports over 200,000 users worldwide on a 24x7x365 basis. The candidate will be responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of eRA systems hardware, software and related infrastructure.


  • Provide system administration, engineering, and management support services for the Windows Servers and infrastructure
  • Perform vulnerability scanning, analyze scan data and conduct vulnerability remediation and patching
  • Follow proactive monitoring/maintenance policies and procedures to maintain availability of mission critical systems using tools such as SiteScope
  • Hands-on experience of enterprise system patching using tools such as Bigfix
  • Participate in monthly on-call rotation to support the production environment
  • Baseline & organize technical documentation, such as scripts, performance metrics, etc.
  • Provide incident response / troubleshooting for Windows servers running in a virtualized environment
  • Assist in SAN maintenance for the virtualized environment






  • 3+ years of experience administering Windows Server (Server 2008 and Server 2012)
  • Experience with vulnerability patching and remediation
  • Experience with enterprise system patching tools such as Bigfix
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Excellent problem solving and analysis skills with the ability to effectively troubleshoot, resolve, or escalate problems
  • Ability to identify and utilize relevant resources to provide customers with information and resolution
  • Experience administering RedHat Linux and CentOS is a plus
  • Knowledge and understanding of the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) is a plus
  • Experience in Federal Grants Management is a plus.



  • Bachelor Degree or equivalent work experience
  • Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) preferred


  • Must be able to obtain a Public Trust
